Crisps for Free (5+)

Feminism for Preschoolers

In ‘CRISPS FOR FREE’ we will talk about feminism.
What does that have to do with crisps?
At first glance, maybe not a lot -
Luckily, crisps still look the same to everyone.
But if there were blue crisps and pink crisps, would the girls eat only the pink ones and the boys only the blue?

Blue and pink aren’t innocent clichés – we hang our prejudices on them.
Pink is for girls, just like scented candles, crying, being caring, keeping a diary, having feelings and ponies.
Blue is for boys, just like cars, fighting, pay checks, overtime, rockets and blue puzzles.
For sure there are differences between boys and girls. But surely we attach way too much importance to them

Time to investigate.
Because the fight for equality has not yet been fought!
I mean, a pink biro writes as just as well as a blue one, right?

Armed with a bag of pink delights, we will hammer our way into an absurd universe where children (and adults too of course) are invited to rattle some stereotypes.
And if you’re sweet, maybe there will be some tasty treats at the end…. Crisps, maybe…
